The NRK Orchestra is a 53 piece orchestra which perform all kinds of musical genres in all kinds of concert venues and studio sessions. About 70% of the programmes are classical. The main task is delivering programmes to the NRK TV and radio channels and what ever distribution platform we use.
The orchestra make at least one major tour each season. We also try to keep som studio slots open to take on jobs for the commercial music industry. The orchestra discography, also over a wide range of rpertoire, will count round 30 titles at the end of the 06/07 season. As of 1. August 2006, the chief executive is Mr. Martin Revheim.
